History: Born in 980 A.D., Tatia lived in the small village which would later become Mystic Falls. She had a reasonably normal life growing up, had a good family and married a young Viking warrior. After her son was born however, her husband went off to fight and died in battle. Despite it being customary for a woman to throw herself into the flames atop her husband's funeral pyre, Tatia decided against it, choosing to instead live for her son and in the hope she might find love again. She became the object of affection of both Elijah and Klaus Mikaelson, but ultimately chose Elijah. She was happy with him, believing him to be her second chance. However, after the death of the youngest Mikaelson, Henrik, Esther called Tatia to her and asked if she might use her blood for a spell. Tatia naively allowed her to do so, entirely unaware of the woman's true intentions. When she happened across Klaus in the woods after his first kill as a vampire, she ran and Elijah chased after her. Tatia warned him to stay away, frightened of the monster he had become. He promised he would not hurt her, but ultimately couldn't fight his own nature. He told her to run, but his instincts had already taken over and he ended up draining her entirely. Tatia died and crossed over to the other side, where she spent the next 1000 years in disconnected observation, simply watching the changing word, trapped and longing to enjoy the activities and experiences of the living. Then, after what had felt like an eternity of this, the other side was weakened due to the surge of magic used to resurrect the corpses of the dead--the origin of the 'zombies'. Several souls emerged from the other side due to this weakening of the barrier between the living and the dead, Tatia being one of them.
