Personality: Sarah is a generally kind and trusting person, genuinely caring for the well being of others and trying to be understanding of them. However, she can trust too easily at times and can also have a bit of a temper. Outwardly calm, yet often very sensitive on the inside, she can also be very assertive and charismatic. She is a deeply passionate individual, terrified of losing the people she loves, and is extremely curious and creative. She is intuitive and can usually talk her way out of a tough spot. Due to the nature of her birth, she developed a sort of morbid fascination, drawn to the concept of death. This is most prevalent in her photography, which she was pursuing in college. She admires when people are real and upfront with her and hates when they flaunt acts of heroism. She’s very realistic and prefers to live in the moment, without dwelling too heavily on either the past or the future. She is also her own worst critic, often judging her own actions too harshly.

History: Sarah is the biological daughter of Zach Salvatore and Gail. However, while Gail was still pregnant with her, she was killed by Damon, and Sarah was delivered through an emergency C-section. Stefan remained with the baby during this time and made sure she was adopted by a good family, even making sure to compel her against taking any interest in the supernatural in the hopes that her life would progress normally. Sarah grew up knowing nothing of either her birth family or vampires, and her life did progress somewhat normally. After High School, she was accepted into Duke university, where she pursued her photography career. However, after the outbreak, the intends to do whatever it takes to travel to her adoptive family in Baltimore, MD, even if it means trekking across the Eastern US alone.
