[. Vampire Diaries meets Zombie Apocalypse .]
It's happened! The apocalypse has fallen upon us as a whole new class of 'the living dead' sweeps across the world at an alarming rate. Will the human race survive? Supernatural beings have an advantage, but how can even the vampire species continue if there are no more humans left to provide blood for them?

A circle of witches in the Middle East attempted to develop a spell which would revive the dead. However, it goes terribly wrong and ends up casting a plague to all those within the vicinity, killing them and zombifying them. The zombification spread, as humans are attacked in large number and reviving as zombies. Due to the massive surge of magical energy used to create this spell, the Other Side is weakened, the barrier between the living and the dead growing thin. The Prison worlds were also opened, releasing all of those contained inside.

A zombie bite is lethal to vampires, acting much like that of a werewolf! There is currently no known cure for the bite, so any vampire bitten by one will die and arise again as a zombie!
- Takes place during the 6th season of 'The Vampire Diaries', and the 2nd season of 'The Originals'.
- The Other Side was never destroyed, but the prison worlds were opened due to an upsetting of the balance between nature and the supernatural. (Damon and Bonnie were never trapped there, never met Kai, and they aren't necessarily aware of the presence of Lily Salvatore. Elena also never erased her memories of Damon).
