My friends are...
During the majority of Damon's life, he has been very hesitant to trust anyone, typically preferring to 'go solo', without having to rely on others. However, after returning to Mystic Falls, he slowly realized that loneliness was the one thing worse than the risk of broken trust. He tends to push away those people he does care for in moments where he feels they'd be better off without him. If he makes a friend and they break his trust, he is usually very hurt and will lash out at them for it. However, despite all of this, Damon has made quite a few acquaintances and friends, letting them close and protecting them, finally feeling that he really can be something better than what he'd resigned himself to.
I love...
Damon has had several 'flings' in his time, enjoying the company of anyone who could help fill the emptiness. He typically cares even for his briefest flings, but was also known for sometimes killing the women once he' was through with them, burying himself even further within his feelings of self-loathing. He has only ever felt real love for Katherine Pierce and then Elena after her. With Elena, he has felt a very redemptive sort of love, believing he has found his soulmate. He is entirely dedicated to her and, despite having faced many challenges in their relationship so far, he is now secure and ready to take on the future beside her.
My enemies are...
It isn't very difficult to get on Damon's bad side, and so his enemies are usually those who have personally harmed either himself or the people he cares about. It 'crosses a line' in his book. However, he also isn't above working with presumed 'enemies' to achieve a common goal. When befitting a method for survival, he's willing to overlook differences and work with presumed enemies, which typically earns him disagreements from those in his company who are against siding with the enemy. However, if anyone proves themselves a threat, he won't hesitate to swiftly end them.
