After a rather…uneventful night of driving down the interstate, not a soul in sight, the sky began to switch over to that pale grey color. Tommy would sometimes just watch it as he drove, but his eyes flickered between several different things. From the road, to the sky, to the dash, to the trees towering beside the road, to where Holly sat sleeping next to him. Yeah, it was good for her to get some sleep. Rest up and gather her strength. They’d had a…rough evening before they’d had to get on the road and relocate. A hoard had chased them out, but not before they’d had a bit of fun with them. It was fun to get creative with all the ways they could eliminate them. The riskier the better.
But sometimes, sometimes there were just too many and they’d have to move on. Onto the next thing. Before it’d all started, they’d been used to being on the road, being on the run. After he’d won Miss Holly over, they’d gotten hitched and took to life outside the law, moving from place to place. And then the zombie thing happened, destroying the carefully constructed binds of society. Oh, it’d been hilarious! The panic and the chaos. After so long, the illusion had finally fallen, all people revealed for who they really were—their true colors showing. It was beautiful. It was a beautiful world. A dark mirth filled him as he admired the wreckage of the surrounding scenery.
Tommy saw the first streaks of color, carelessly splattering across the gray, and thought of what they could do for breakfast. His eyes scanned along the roadside before he saw what looked to be a diner. Ah, it’d do so very nicely. He abruptly turned the RV off the road and into the parking lot. He braked and paused to look inside, squinting his eyes in concentration, before they brightened. Seemed clear. And if not, well, let the day's fun begin! Tommy reached back, grabbed his favorite gun, and cocked it. “Let’s go, let’s go,” he muttered in a sing-song voice as it rose and fell. Then he reached over to give Holly’s shoulder a little shake. “Wakey wakey, sunshine!" His voice fell again, expression shifting to one more serious as he tilted his head at her and blinked slowly. "We’re here.”

Holly felt a distant sensation of being disturbed, a hand softly shaking her to wake her, but she paid no mind to it. She kept her eyes closed, holding on to the figures and colors floating through her mind as she forced herself to stay in her dream world. She always hated having to leave it, having to wake up. She wished she could just stay in this world forever, just live the dream until she died. The real world was just...so boring in comparison. Sure, there were creatures, and violence, and all other sorts of exciting things, but she just liked this better. She could imagine whatever she wanted there, imagine a world that was perfectly her own. She always knew it wouldn't last, but she still looked forward to it every time she fell asleep. Except when those bad dreams snuck in randomly, but she could easily forget about those.
Though, there was one thing missing form this dream, which really would have made it perfect. One crazy individual in particular that would just...add to the excitement. At that thought, she unconsciously let out a chuckle in her sleep, thinking about the only thing in this world that made it not so boring. The only person.
She thought about that hand shaking her shoulder, and the voice that was becoming clearer and clearer the more she let herself be pulled away. At this point, she knew he was watching over her, waiting for her eyes to open. Who else could it have been, shaking her awake and making sing-song words flow and mix in with her dream? No one could pull it off quite like that, going from a high register to that eerie, deep, growl-like voice. Only her Tommy.
She finally allowed her eyes to open, taking in the glimmer in his own which he held on her. She pouted slightly at the brightness of the day, blinking her eyes rapidly so they would adjust to the sun, before letting them again settle on the man beside her, a fond smile forming as she watched him. Wait...here?
She looked away from him for a moment, taking in her surroundings. They were stopped in the parking lot of, what looked to be, a run down diner. "Ooh!" Her smile brightened, excited at the look of the place, and the fact that she might finally be able to go out to eat at a decent place like this. Regardless of the spurts of red scattered around various places, marking where people probably fought to their death, and the obvious lack of staff. It didn't really matter to her, though. In fact, she probably liked the place even more because of it. It added just a little character to the shabby diner. "We gonna get some breakfast, sweet pea?"
Tommy watched the girl wake with keen interest, his dark eyes watching all the little reactions that crossed her face. It was always the same. She'd resist, fight off the waking--which often led him to wonder if she'd rather just stay there in her dreamland--before she'd manage to hear him and her whole face would brighten right up! Like he was the only reason she even bothered waking up at all. Seeing that always filled him with...something. Something warm and pleasurable.
She opened up those baby blues of hers and blinked out the sunlight before smiling at him. The corner of his mouth twitched upward in response, not really knowing how else to...respond. He could never completely sort out his own reactions to those things she did. Then she got all excited and it thrilled him! He'd chosen the right place. "We sure arrre," he growled out, but the amusement he felt took his voice up a notch at what he said next, "nice spot, hm?!" He lifted his gun, "pick up a firearm in case we have to...shorten the wait list a bit."

The blonde giggled at his little joke, jumping up into a sitting position and letting her legs fall from the dashboard. She really did love that sense of humor he had. It always put a smile on her face. Reaching out to open the glove compartment, Holly grabbed her favorite pistol, checking the chamber to ensure it had a fair amount of bullets, and slipped it and a few spare rounds into her leg holster.
After she'd finished, she got up to check her reflection in the mirror attached to the RV's wall, before scowling at the sight. Her hair had gotten all messed up in her sleep, and her mascara smeared a little around her eyes. Taking down the twin ponytails she'd had in the day before, she twisted her hair into a loose bun, letting a few of the strands fall down her neck. Taking another look at her eyes, she just wiped some smudges underneath off, not really minding the look. She didn't want to leave her Tommy waiting too long, so this was the most she could do at the moment.
Looking down at her outfit, she saw she was still wearing the dress she'd tried on last night, and she didn't really care to change out of it. So, smoothing out the hem a little, she grabbed her black coat from the couch and slipped on some shoes, also opting to take a well-sized dagger with her in case she got a little too intimate with the other guests.
"I'm all set, puddin'," she called to the man waiting on her, hopping over to him to give his cheek a peck. "Jus' wanted t'cover all the bases before we went in."
Holly then made her way to the door, picking up her trusty "good night" bat and giving it a twirl before waiting for her darling man to say when.

Niklaus Mikaelson: Loved the scandalous photo, mate. Did you notice, it almost looks like young Jeremy is trying to karate chop the back of his head, doesn't it?

Damon Salvatore: Huh...you're right. Didn't notice that, but appreciate the pointer ;1 I just love how Jer's in such obvious pain while Silas doesn't even look phased by it. Not even so much as a wince.

Damon Salvatore: I also love how we're talkin in three different places at once ;1

Niklaus Mikaelson: Heheh. Oh yes, it's very impressive on the old sod's part, and...sadly, a bit shameful for our dear Jeremy ;1 You have to appreciate the contrast.

Niklaus Mikaelson: Heh. Well, we just couldn't get enough of each other, obviously ;1

Nikolaj Lyons: Yes, I see that. What a marvelous friend you make too ;1 You certainly make this whole undead business seem a bit less...oh, shall we say bleak?

Terrence Lyons: Bleak is a good word for it, I'd think, yes. And, ohh...what can I say? I just have that effect Your continued presence doesn't make it so bad, either.
